About Us

Abes is a project by "I Locandieri," a Social Cooperative that invests in its land, respecting and enhancing it by generating social and economic value to be used for the benefit of as many people as possible.

Its projects are divided into:

For immigration:

Extraordinary Reception Centre "CAS Locanda" and a Community for Unaccompanied Foreign Minors (MSNA).

Since 2008, we have not only been concerned with their reception but also with their education and social and professional integration, in a "living environment" where daily sharing and training/educational activities are integrated.

For young people:

The multifunctional sports field Unità d’Italia

From land confiscated in Castelvetrano to a sports field created to carry out recreational, leisure, and sports activities such as introductory multidisciplinary sports for children aged 3 to 6, volleyball for children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, and sports activities for Unaccompanied Foreign Minors hosted in the local communities.

The Orange Garden

The farmhouse hosts a residential community for minors, a food processing laboratory, and a food distribution center.

The land is also used for the organic cultivation of fruit and vegetables and involves, in a therapeutic and educational form, people with disabilities, young people in the penal system, and adult immigrants.

I Locandieri have a dream: to stimulate social cohesion and inclusion by activating a social economy that is measured not by numbers but by people, relationships, and local resources.
